On 26 January 2026, the government approved the draft state budget for 2026, which anticipates a deficit of CZK 310 billion. In accordance with Section 21 of Act No. 23/2017 Coll., on the Rules of Budgetary Responsibility, as amended, (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”), the Czech Fiscal Council (“CFC”) states that this draft is in direct conflict with its current wording.
