Zdeněk Pikhart is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics in Prague (field: Economic Policy, minor specialization: Monetary Economics and Banking), where he completed his doctoral postgraduate studies in the same field in 2016. Since October 2023, he has been working in the Monetary Section of the Czech National Bank as the Director of the Monetary Policy and Fiscal Analysis Department. His responsibilities include, among others, the preparation of Monetary Policy Reports and monetary policy recommendations for the Bank Board, the processing of analyses and predictions in the field of monetary development and fiscal policy, the interaction of monetary and macroprudential policy, and the coordination and processing of materials focused on the Czech Republic’s membership in the eurozone. Between 2011 and 2023, he worked in the team of macroeconomic forecasters of the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic, where he later headed the macroeconomic analysis department. He is currently teaching at the Department of Economics and Management of the Unicorn University. He is the author of more than two dozen scientific publications, primarily in the areas of monetary, fiscal, and macroprudential policy.
